General Information
Upper Mataura Anglers Lodge is a peaceful and intimate respite from the fast pace of daily life. Three rooms with king or single beds, two lounges, internet and laundry facilities make it a perfect placr to stay while visiting Milford or Doubtful Sounds, Queenstown adventures, wine country, the art trail, fishing one of the 20+ rivers and lakes, or just relaxing with the sheep, horses, hills and valleys. The Northern Southland area will be one of the highlights of your holiday.
Welcome to New Zealand’s South Island and the Gateway to the Southland District. Northern Southland, amid awesome Southern Alps scenery, is a tranquil sheep & cattle farming area and home to some of the world’s finest trout fishing rivers and lakes.
Upper Mataura Anglers Lodge is situated south of Queenstown, directly across from the Mataura River, on 20+ acres of lush New Zealand farmland. The lodge provides both full meal service and Bed & Breakfast style accommodation. The lodge is also home to sheep, horses, outdoor cats and a sleepy dog and runs popular farm tours.
The lodge is ideally located for easy access to Milford/Doubtful Sounds, more than 20 rivers and lakes, 4 wheel drive areas, numerous treks and all of Queenstown’s tours and adventures.
The lodge has three guest rooms that can be fitted with either two super twin beds or one king sized bed. The “Hillview” room has an en-suite while the “Homestead” and “Rose Garden” rooms have guest share facilities. The number of guests is limited to ensure personalized service and a stay to remember forever.
