General Information
Long Acres Farmstay is on the Southern Scenic Route just 15 minutes from Invercargill on the way to the beautiful Catlins. Our farm makes an ideal stopover to see Bluff (known for oysters and where New Zealand's longest road ends), the Tiwai Point Aluminum Smelter (which is Southland's largest single employers), before moving onto the Catlins. Stewart Island for walks, fishing, hunting, bird life and the Brown Kiwi.
Trips to beautiful Stewart Island by sea or air can easily be arranged.
Queenstown, Te Anau and Dunedin are all only 2½ hours travel by car.
Long Acres is ideal for visitors to 'get away from it all' it offers tranquility, relaxation, fishing - local streams, bird life, golf courses and farm life at its best.
We have a large modern farm homestead and lovely garden on flat countryside and surrounded with views of native bush, the Takitimu Mountains and Stewart Island.
Children Welcome.
We are a non smoking household.
Our farm is 1000 acres carrying 4000 Romney sheep and 80 Beef cattle. Helen, having managed a restaurant, enjoys meeting people and cooking meals, from her home grown cuisine.
You may have dinner with us and being travellers ourselves and having travelled extensively overseas share an evening of relaxation and friendship, or if you prefer, only bed and breakfast.
We look forward to sharing our home with visitors from all over the world. Stay as long as you wish.
