General Information
Your hosts, Terry and Maureen Baines will do their utmost to make your stay at the Saltings Estate enjoyable. Terry hails from England, and Maureen from Ireland. They settled in New Zealand in the mid-sixties. They are well travelled and have found their little piece of heaven here. They fell in love with the Saltings when they stayed as guests in 2000. The locality and the Mediterranean ambience of the Saltings appealed to them and they spontaneously offered to buy it. Since then they have added to the charm of the estate with a small vineyard, olive grove, and the re-planting of native bush.
The Vintner’s Haven is situated at the end of our vineyard. It has two accommodation options that provide all the comforts of home in an idyllic setting. 'The Bordeaux Suite' is a one or two bedroom fully equipped suite upstairs with stunning views of the vineyard and estuary. It is ideal for couples seeking a romantic get away. 'The Merlot Suite' is a smaller ground-floor apartment with a kitchenette and its own entrance. Breakfast is not included in the rates.
The Vintner's Haven is open all year.
There is plenty of secure off street parking and wireless internet access is available.

The Bordeaux Suite consists of the bedroom with private bathroom, a large lounge, dining room, modern Macrocarpa kitchen and private decks. The lounge is spacious and inviting with a free-standing log fire and French doors leading onto a large sun-drenched deck with panoramic views. An extra person can sleep on the divan bed. Although self catering, optional continental breakfast provisions are provided for the first day @ $15 per person by prior arrangement.
The Olive Room has a super king bed with ensuite and can be used as a
second bedroom to the Bordeaux Suite.
The Merlot Suite is a cosy and intimate apartment apartment on ground level. Featuring an en-suite bathroom with white plastered walls and Morris & James tiles around the mirror, doorway and copper based shower.
