 General Information

Rosetta House is only 35 minutes from Wellington. This modern and spacious home is tastefully decorated and set in landscaped gardens.

We will ensure a warm welcome to our boutique accommodation.

The beach is just around the corner. Five restaurants, two cafes and the village shops are all within 100 metres. Enjoy a good nights sleep, a walk on the beach and a gracious crystal & silver setting to enhance our gourmet cooked breakfast.

We enjoy meeting many visitors from New Zealand and around the world.
The exchange of anecdotes and fun times around the breakfast table has brought much laughter and friendship.

Eco-Tours to see some of the world’s rarest birds, and enjoy the unique and fascinating fauna and flora of this protected island. Experience how New Zealand must have been over 100 years ago.

You will pass through a marine reserve on the way over to Kapiti Island and may see passing whales and dolphins (in season). Many birds can be seen too - gulls, gannets, penguins, petrels, terns, and shearwater and a collection of New Zealands native birds in their natural habitat.

The island is our heritage, and to protect it, the NZ Department of Conservation allows only 50 visitor-permits a day. These need to be booked in advance.

Allow for two nights accommodation at Rosetta House to make the most of this tour. We will book the boat trip and purchase permits on your behalf.

A courtesy drop-off and pick-up from Rosetta House will be provided for our guests.
