Set on 1.6 hectares of mostly native bush, over looking Lake Tarawera, Rotorua, the Carodene Accommodation Estate offers you a range of self catering options. You can select any one of the following or mix and match to suit your group’s size and needs.
With managers living nearby you are assured of assistance as required and privacy to enjoy your vacation.

The Carodene Guesthouse:
Set in landscaped gardens nestled into the native bush our Qualmark 4-star self contained and serviced three bedroom unit boast awe-inspiring views over Lake Tarawera, to the majestic volcanic mountain.
Sleeping up to 7 people this option comes complete with all linen and a wonderful range of facilities.
The Guesthouse shares access to the spa house, children’s play area and glow-worm grottoes.

The Lockwood:
With a separate easy access driveway, this five bedroom home can sleep up to 12 persons and has loads of room for the boat and all your toys.
Pricing options are available for you to either bring your own linen or have it supplied.

Cabin A:
The smallest of our units, this 3 X 6 metre studio style unit comes with all linen supplied. It has its own ensuite and a fully functional kitchenette. It sleeps two to three persons.
Cabin A shares access to the spa house, children’s play area and glow-worm grottoes.

Cabin B:
A functional 2 bedroom unit sleeping up to 6 persons, with its own garden area, as well as comfortable furnishings and facilities. Options available for supplied or ‘bring your own’ linen. Visitors are free to explore the glow-worm grottoes.
Cabin B does not have access to the spa house or children’s play area.

 Location Description

Almost at the end of a no through road from Rotorua, the two properties offer a private, peaceful setting free of the sulphur fumes of the neighbouring thermally active areas.
One of New Zealand’s best kept secrets they are only three our drive from Auckland international airport, (or you can fly to the local Rotorua airport). They are only half an hour to the white sandy beaches, deep sea fishing, surfing, White Island, swimming with dolphins and other adventures of the East coast. They are also only two hours from the North Island Ski fields.
Rotorua it self is home to thermal, Maori and farm shows, fine dining, night clubs, skydiving, 4WD adventures, scenic flights, golf, white water rafting. The luge, bungee, hunting, speed boats, horse treks and much more..
And Lake Tarawera, under the world famous volcanic mountain, offers fishing for trophy size rainbow trout, swimming, scenic and fishing charters, water skiing, walking, hiking, fine dining, glow-worms, canoe hire, The Buried Village and other historic sites, natural thermal waters (Hotwater Beach).. and loads of quality relaxation!
564 and 566 Spencer Road are almost at the very end of the one way street. They overlook Otumutu Lagoon, home to the prestigious Solitaire Lodge.
They are nestled into a natural bush setting that provides privacy and seclusion afforded few lake properties.
