General Information
Trewillows is sited in an acre of established gardens, and located alongside the Ngongotaha Stream and Lake Rotorua. Of brick construction this cottage stands away from the hosts' home and seconds away from the lakefront and stream. The two bedrooms, full laundry facilities, well equipped kitchen including dishwasher, full size dining table and chairs and extensive garden - I thought it would be a great spot for a longer stay. There is good use of native timbers and modern amenities such as television, sound system and heating. The theme of the décor is hunting and fishing, which is fitting as Dennis is a professional fishing guide. I can just imagine setting up here, sending my partner off fishing and finding a shady spot under one of the large willows on the edge of the river to read my book. After such a strenuous day, the ideal conclusion would be a tall gin and tonic on the private verandah watching the world pass by. Comments in the guest book often refer to the generous hospitality of the hosts, an indication that you can be as private or as interactive with the hosts as you like. A quote from one Auckland guest ended with: 'Thank you for a memory that will last forever'.
